Fancy Friday: Negative Space Nails

Hi again
The theme for Fancy Friday today was Negative Space Nails, that is the therm for a nail design where you can see the nail through some holes as I did, but there are many possibilities for the design just incorporating the negative space.
Here is my design:  *more photos after a little text*

I used China Glaze "Rendezvous With You" and ORLY "Peaceful Opposition". Two coats with both for this manicure.
I painted the hearts without any guidelines

Here it is with shiny top coat:

Rest of the pictures are with matte topcoat as I liked that best:

What do you think? I though it got a little dark so maybe a better design for winter with this choise of polishes, but I really love it and as I pared the polishes I had to pair them on the nail also.

Swatch: Emily De Molly - Monet's Garden

Hi again
A quick swatchpost today with the lovely Emily de Molly "Monet's Garden". When I saw this at a private seller on facebook I new I had to have it even though I was much in doubt if I would like it or not. It is not a base color that suits me generally I think but the name lead me back to my childhood where I saw Monet's garden and his pictures in books and television. My father was very fond of the style and made our own garden a combination of Monet's garden and a English traditional garden with lovely flowers everywhere. So it had some sentimental value. I still dream about one day being able to visit Monet's Garden, and maybe I will some day.

Now about the polish itself:
This is a auquatic turquoise jelly with both green and a lighter yellowish green holographic hex glitters in three sizes. There is matte big yellowish green glitters and pink ordinary smaller glitters. A little to blue I think to be a garden, but when thinking of some of Monet's paintings and ways of catching colors by light I guess Monet would have though this was a great representation. In some lights it looks very green and in some very blue - so you could say that the green light makes it the trees, bushes and flowers, and the blue makes it the pond with the water-lilys and their leaves.
In the pictures I only captured it in the turquoise-blue color the daylight gave it, but it is more complex than the photos gives it credit for.

Aplicationwise it was a little chunky with all the glitters and a base that demanded at least three coats, so I was very careful that the glitters didn't clumped together on the nail but was more evenly spread.

Even though it is not a color I reach for that often I am happy this is in my collection.

Pastel flowers

Hi girls
My pastel design for today is a little darker than what I would normally call pastel but this was what I wanted to do so that's why it became this way.

Fancy Friday: Fairytales (beauty and the beast)

Hello again:)

Today the theme is fairytales. I already did a inspired mani of snow white that you can see here, and for today I wanted to do my absolute favorite story "The Beauty and the Beast". In disneys version the beast has a temper he can't control, but I've read other versions as one where the beast actually was a troll. In that version he was no bad person, it was only his looks that where the thing that made the love bloom slow and therefore it was more about the love than the behavior like in Disney's version. I like the Disney version but mostly because of the songs, the drawings and the magical rose.

So for today I chose to paint the rose and the mirror on my nails over the thermal polish Dance Legend nr. 182. And yes you are supposed to analyse the color shift into the shift both from fear to love and from cold darkness to rosey love with gold glitters that could be romantic light. Another thing that made this polish perfect for this purpose is that the colors of the inside of the dark castle actually mostly are these colors.

Dance Legend 182 needs three coats to be fully opaque I think. If you got very cold fingers you might wait until its a little warmer if you want the shift to appear, I had to heat this with a blowdryer to get it to show but it was also cold and rainy today.

Here it is cold:

Here its between warm and cold

Here its warm:

Appart from that I used these colors:
China Glaze "Fade Into Hue" - for the mirror
OPI "Don't Touch My Tutu" - white jelly I used for the glass - cool effect over the thermal!
OPI "Dim Sum Plum" - for the rose and heart. Essie "Cascade cool" for the highlights
OPI "Mermaids Tears" - for the rose's stem (in was more wisible in real life but i should have used a darker green for more contrast)

Swatch: Models Own Speckled Eggs collection

Hi Girls
I really like the Speckled Egg look on nails. I first saw it with the Illamasqua kollection that is nowhere to buy on the internet anymore (or you can still find one on Asos). I only got the blue from that collection and have been seaching for the purple ever since. When I saw that Models Own had made this collection I was sure I needed at least three, and because they had a 6for20 offer I bought them all. The colors are really fun and pretty, a little more vibrant in real life though. Sadly a little sheer.

All the polishes have black hex glitters in three different sizes.

The colors from left to right: Dove, Swan, Duck, Magpie and Goose

Dove - A light pink creme. It can look both cold toned and warm toned in different light. Needs three coats for full coverage. This was the first I used for a full manicure.

Swan - A dusty blueish purple. Not that vibrant and summery as the others, i predicted it would be my favorite but its not of this reason. Needs three coats for full coverage.

Duck - A true light blue shade, very pretty. Needs three coats for full coverage.

Magpie - A greenish turquoise gorgeous shade. This was the only polish in this collection that only needed two coats. (So good that I bought one more for a giveaway!!!)

Goose - A warm yellow. It does not fit my skin tone and in my opinion it should have been lighter because it can come of a bit dirty with the black specks. I will try it over a light yellow to give it a second try. I do think it has potential and i hope i can get it to work. Needs three coats for full coverage.
Sorry there is no flash photo for this, in some way blogger decided that photo needs so be en neon colors when i put it into the post... very weird because it is not at all like that neither in real life or in the photo...

Comparison of Duck and Illamasqua "Fragile"
As you can see Models own is a lot darker and where the models own have three sizes of black glitter, Illamasqua only have two. I like the Models Own the best even though it needs three coats and the Illamasqua only needs two. Fun that I though this was a half as good copy of that collection when the Speckled Egges are so much more pretty!

Are you going to get any of these?

Unicorn (featuring Glam Polish)

So the theme of today is "unicorn". Some think of rainbows, I think of pastel colors and I did this:

I had to incorporate Glam Polish "Cloud Atlas" in my design. As you can see in the pictures below it is freaking gorgeous and I imagine a spotted unicorn. Basta!

So here's a quick swatch of it by it's own. In the pictures this is two coats Cloud Atlas over two coats OPI Alpine Snow

The colors of today are:
Glam Polish "Cloud Atlas", Essie "Licorice", OPI "Alpine Snow", OPI "Do You Lilac It?", China Glaze "Electric Beat", China Glaze "For Audrey" and China Glaze "Bottoms Up"

I don't want to make a step to step tutorial for the unicorn, I think it is easy to see how I created this, first painting the white for the unicorn and details came afterwards. I have been drawing more unicorns than I can count in my childhood so its not a big deal for me and if you want to do the same you need to look at the shapes. If you can recreate the shapes you can recreate the design. The most tricky part was the eyelashes and you need a very small brush for that.

On the ring finger I was not trying to make a rainbow but a tail with multiple colors like the my little pony's and did my first attempt of something like the cloud manicure. A little failed but I was not in for the freakisk precision as I normally am. Was a little dizzy today.

What do you think? Will you try this or do you find it to hard? In most cases you just need to use your eyes and take your time.

Swatch: Romeo+Juliet / Dollish+Jindie

*Blogging from my phone so sorry for pictures with dry skin*

Soooo I got a nail mail, and it needed to be shared now because they are so stunning and i think there are only a few sets left. I bought mine at Dollish Polish Website because Jindie nails don't ship to Denmark. I think the idea that they do a set together is fantastic and I will look out for their other cooperations - actually I can't wait, I want them all right now just because of these two polished. Addicted.com haha

The most pictures I have seen of these have been with Romeo over Juliet. I don't like dark glitter over a light base so I used Romeo as an accent nail in this case and over a dark dusty blue base. They still fits great together I think and there are many possibilities for manicures with this set.

Jindie Nails "Juliet" - needs 2-3 coats, I used three for the photos. Its a very flattering light purple with red undertones and blue and magenta glitter in different sizes. More subtle than I thought but I still love it.

Dollish Polish "Romeo" - is a glitter in a clear base, in the photos one coat over a dark dusty blue base. It has glitters in blue, magenta, teal and black bigger glitters like skulls, hearts and stars. I only purposely placed a black star on my nail because my nails are very rounded so I don't enjoy to big glitters because they stick out on my nail instead of lying smooth down. If you have bigger flatter nails this should not be a problem to you, I just chose I didn't wanted to wear this many like that. I was unsure if i would like it because of the bigger glitter, but it is possible not to pick up so I am happy for that and I really love the color combinations.

Here is some pictures with ordinary topcoat:

Here is some pictures with matte topcoat (i like this the most so there is many pictures of it):

I am so happy I bought these, they are just amazing. I hope you liked the post:)

Fancy Friday: Yellow, Red, Blue, Green

Hi again, back after a little break from Fancy Friday
Todays theme was very free. I would normally never ever ever match the primary colors together, i like it more subtle and what I ended up with was actually so much me that i almost decided to wear it, but no I had to do this and a lot other things so be on track... A shame but that's how it is.

I was inspired by the spring so I made a blue sky, green grass and flowers  in red (papavers) yellow (taraxacum) and white (daisies). And added some white clouds with a cutip.
Summer!!! YAAAAAAAYYYYYY!!!! XD

The colors used where:
Etude House Sweet Recipe "banana", Essie "Rasberry", Essie "Rrock the boat", OPI "Mermaids Tears" and OPI "Alpine Snow"

So this was a very summery design. I hope you liked it and that the sun shines over you :)

Swatch: My Cadillacquer Picks!

A month ago I received this order. I had gasped after some Cadillacquer since first time I laid eyes on pictures of these and because some of them where on sale and getting discontinued I had to react. I have had so much to do so first now I have come to wear them... sad but let's just celebrate that I got around to it;) Because I love them!

For all the pictures I used three coats of polish for full opacity.

I bought: Remember Me, Cute Poison, Have a Little Faith, Dollhouse, Easy as pie.

"Remember Me" - A light blue crelly base with a little tendency to mint green-ish tone with small and bigger circle glitter in a lovely pink shade. There is also tiny silver glitter in it but it it very subtle in this color combination.
I would have thought this would need underwear, but I actually don't own the 100% correct base color that would match this even though I have to many minty polishes, and when I discovered that with three coats underwear was not needed I was very happy cause underwear often removes some depth. This is a spring color you just need!

"Cute Poison" - A dusty teal crelly base with black square glitter and pink and blue holographic small glitter. A weird combination, a little bit poison but still nice and girly in some way (ohh you get a long way just by adding pink glitter ;) haha). I was unsure that I would like this, but I do see it as a very unique polish in my collection and it fits me but I think i will wear this most in the late summer as translation into spring.

"Have a Little Faith" - A greyish brown crelly base that leans taupe but still is brown in my opinion. It has two smaller sizes of silver glitter and two bigger sizes of brown glitter - in my eyes this looks like a glittery cookie :D
This was the one that was getting discontinued and as I don't have other polishes that makes me think of a glittery cookie this was needed, and I think it is sad it is gone now. But see it you shall anyways and I hope I don't ruin anybody's sleep:)

"Dollhouse" - A light taupe crelly base with warm pink undertones, very weird color, with small silver glitter, bigger hex silver glitter, pink bigger light pink circle and square glitter. It looks perfectly as an addition for a old dollhouse from that time when they had porcelain dolls and many beautiful details. Very delicate, clean and sweet. A fun way to get the same onto the nails. In the pictures I have three coats of polish as mentioned first in the post, but this was the only one I doubted if this was enough. My conclusion is that it can be, but next time I wear it I will add another coat just to be safe. The consistency was a little watery.

"Easy as pie" - A light purple base leaning more blue than all my other purple polishes. It has a small and big size hex silver glitter, a small and big size magenta glitter and bigger lilac square glitters. Ummmm this is so nice colors together. I would like it to contain more glitter because it was a little sparse and the consistency was very watery and I' not sure if it is a crelly or a jelly because of the bad consistency. First coat looked like nothing, but still three coats was enough. Because it was so watery the glitter glide right off the brush after I dipped the brush and I had to place some to be satisfied. I would wish it had been more like you think when you look at the bottle. Besides that this is a color combination worth fighting for for me. Its still amazing.

I am happy with my buy. Are you going to get any Cadillacquer polishes??
