Fancy Friday: Can you guess who I am?

Well its not that hard to tell if you know me a little. I can be more creative but if I cut I would forever be a cat, and any chances i get i would dress up as a cat. Unfortunately I don't attend any parties so I have no reason to dress up, not even this weekend where we in Denmark have "Fastelavn", but thats also mostly a childrens day where you dress up and kind of like the american halloween go from door to door and sing a song with same purpose/meaning as "trick or treat". In the schools they hang a barrel filled with candy up and the kids will smash it until it falls down and the last ones that hit it becomes cat king and cat queen. In old days they put a black cat inside because they thought black cats where evil. They where themselves evil basterds! So sad to think about how the cats must have been frigtened:(

Here is a picture of me in 2009 for Fastelavn. It speaks for itself:P
I was 19 so actually not a child anymore... or... don't know. But I was a child inside... but again, I'm still a child inside sometimes:P.

So for today I used Pretty Jelly "Cat's Eye" as base. Unfortunately the sun just didn't show these days so I had to use flash for the photos.
The black is Essie "Licorice" and the pink-ish is China Glaze "Electra Magenta"

and here is the outcome. I chose that the green might as well both be green grass and the cats eyes and therefore the pink was used as both nose and flowers. I love the design, and it was super easy, I actually made it a little bit better on the right hand, it just chipped to fast sadly.

Here is a flash photo os the whole design. A good flash photo, it looks almost like it does in real life.

here it looks most natural, imagine a little stronger sun:)

here in a little to strong flash:

in shade:

I hope the pictures was good enought, without sun it is so hard to capture:/ look forward to the lighter mounths - and weeee: in a few days the spring actually starts if it would follow the calender for once;) Cross your fingers for this.

What would you dress up as this weekend if you where a child?

Swatch: Liquid Sky Lacquer - looking for prince charming

Liquid Sky Lacquer "Looking For Prince Charming" ...<3
When I saw this polish on the site color4nails.com, there where no doubt that I needed to have this. I am a princess inside, have finally found my prince and the title also reminds me of the ending of first season of Once Upon A Time where Snow and Charming finally remember who they are and find each other again after 28 years of looking after something. I just had to see that season again and I cried at this scene again. I am a hopeless romantic!

Today I'm going for my boyfriends birthday party so even though he don't like pink, I think of him because of the name and decided to wear this.
This is almost a onecoater if you are careful with application but I used two.
It's so gorgeous and suits me well I think.

Have a good day:)

Swatch: Rimmel Sweetie Crush collection

Finally I got great swatches for you of the Rimmels Sweetie Crushes. Originally I thought that was a boring collection only consisting of colors I didn't need, but i bought the pink and I fell totally in love. Next day I went and got the rest.
All the polishes is a bit sheer and you need between 3 and 5 coats of polish for them to cover at a point where I am satisfied. But despite what I thought originally these are so unique in my collection that I am really happy to own them.
The four first ones have a cool frost shine and the last a more golden shine. In this grey weather they are kind of boring, therefore I took pictures both in shade and flash but I have put the flash photos first because you need to see how gorgeous these will be in the summer sun!

From left to right: Candyfloss Cute, Violet Swizzle, Bleuberry Whizz, Fizzy Applelicious, Sherbet Sweetheart
Am I the only one that don't get the names and think they are too much? Very annoying to write anyway.

Rimmel "Candyfloss Cute" - a rosey frosty pink texture. The base is warm toned and the frost is cool, a very beautiful shade and this is still my favorite. I used 4 coats of polish for it to dry even without holes made when the texture appears.
First picture in flash, second picture in shade.

Rimmel "Violet Swizzle" - a light cool purple texture. If this had been a little bit darker it would be more visible and i am sure would be more easy to apply. I used 4 coats on all nails but some i had to go back and patch the places that needed a forth coat. It is work, but it is really pretty when light hit it and the color pop.
First picture in flash, second picture in shade.

Rimmel "Blueberry Whizz" - a blue texture with the best coverage of these. I used 3 coats and was happy. It is also the darkest color on the nails. Sadly I really own a lot of blue textures and this is defenetly different than the others, but I don't use blue that much, we'll see if that changes this summer
First picture in flash, second picture in shade.

Rimmel "Fizzy Applelicious" - a cool green shade. Veeery pretty in light! It had the worst coverage though cause I needed beween 4-5 coats for the color to show as I wanted it. When i swatched theese over two days the layers and drytime got really boring, but I know I will want to wear this on its own a day in spring where I have time to put on all the layers. This will be used because I think it is pretty enough to do the effort.
First picture in flash, second picture in shade.

Rimmel "Sherbet Sweetheart" - a warm yellow texture with a warm frosty shine and iredessent glitter as the only one in the collection. I am not the biggest fan of yellow even though i wanted to last summer, and I did only buy this for the glitter and because it was so unique. It drys a bit more slow than the others and the texture is not as much standing out as the others. Maybe this polish is possible to use a topcoat over, I didn't really wanted to find out and I was happy the texture showed better after waiting a little longer. If you have patience/time I think this is a nice polish. The yellow is not too much and actually it barely needed the four coats I laid, some can maybe make this work only at three coats.
First picture in flash, second picture in shade.

Overall I am pleased with this collection. It is pretty, pastels and I think the work you put into your manicure with theese polishes is worth it. Have you bought any?

Swatch: Etude House Ice Cream creme polishes

Finally I have the swatches of the Etude house Ice cream polishes I bought this summer. Noone has made a review for the whole set so I wanted to wait for my shift to English to show this. When I bought these I would have liked more photos and informations and I feared the worst as Fromheadtotoe wasn't that exited about them. I can't understand that cause the consistency is great and I don't find the lid difficult to control. So I do not agree with her on that.
I bought these on eBay on a auction for the set of 8 creme polishes, but they can also be bought separately and are very cheap.
Etude house also made 4 glitter ice cream polishes that I also own, but I did show two of them here but I don't think I will show the last two because these polishes has sadly become hard to get. So there is no meaning in torturing you guys:)

My original reason to want these was of cause the bottles, noone can truly mean they don't think these are amazing! But I was so happy to find out how great the polishes is. The brush and opacity is really nice and they deserve some attention. The colors is not what I am normally attracted by, and therefore I actually dont have a single dupe for any of these colors. My plan is not to use these as manicures with these colors, but instead use them for nail art
Lets get on with the swatches

Choko - yes, it is indeed a very nasty brown shit-color on the nails. I will of cause never ever use it for a full mani, not if all other polishes in the world disapeared. But if I need to make a reindeer for Christmas (or a little bunny for Easter) this is ideal, both because of the color and because: THIS IS A ONE COATER! It has so good opacity that it is a shame is is so ugly;)

Peach - a light orange polish, needs two coats for full opacity. Again not my color, but good to have for nail art and in the case I need to make a penguins beak I will need this. Maybe it can also assist me at Easter.

Banana - yellow polish that needs 2-3 coats, depends on the thickness of the coats you do. I did 3 and because I did not need to do tree coats with any other of the bunch I will say this had the worst consistency, horrible color (but that depends on taste) and this I think you can defenetly live without. I can't use it as nail polish and doubt that I will use it as nail art because the opacity is to week. I have better and more wearable yellows than this so I don't expect ever to get at reason to use this. It will stay in my collection for fun :)

Grapefruit - reddish orange that needs two coats for full opacity. I have no clue yet how I will use this, but I guess I will get some ideas for summer:)

Strawberry - lovely pink that needs two coats of nail polish. Of cause I will find a way to use this:) it is a little more red toned compared to my other pinks but that is because I prefer the blue toned ones, but this is definitely a good polish.

Blueberry - a very pale light lilac and OMG!:  this polish is almost a one coater!!!!!!!!!! Whaaaaatttt???? Didn't believe my eyes when I saw it, have gotten to used to put on light colors with horrible consistency, but this it just as good and amazing as OPI "My very first Knockwurst", not the same color but same fabulous consistency. I am already planning to buy a backup... I am crazy about it and if you like light pastel colors you do need this. And I thought for sure this would be the most horrible of the bunch and maybe wouldn't have bought it if it hadn't been for that auction for the whole set. This is a true example of the mysterious ways of nail polish <3

Blue Mint - a strong turquoise-blue that reach full opacity with two coats. Another characteristic it has is staining very quickly I'm afraid. I wore this on four nails in only 5 minutes maximum, and it was so obvious that my nails had gone a little bluer. Well I wasn't wearing base coat for the swatching, but that fast it stained makes me doubt that a base coat could prevent it all. Good i don't like the color:) it will only be used for nail art, and there is no problem. I actually think it has neon characteristics.

Green Apple - a light warm toned green, also only needs two coats of polish. This is not my color at all, but it could be usefull, maybe around Easter for grass the little eggs could lay in:)
I am really sorry for the picture though, I have no idea why but my hands looked really dirty so I had to reduce all shadow possible to get it out and now the color is a little to bright. I hope i have time to change this photo, if not this was the explanation for the horrible picture.

I hope these pictures and the review helps, there are to few pictures on the Internet for my liking. When I bought these I only thought they would look good, but that is not the case:)

Happy Monday: Flowers

Hi girls, I have not quite gotten over valentines as I had so many ideas for it so that the theme for today was flowers I wanted to use the rose stamp I also used last week again for a full manicure. There is gabs in the stamps and im not sure if its me or the plate but It doesn't this every time and I don't press hard at all, thankfully I think it still looks like roses so it'll have to do for now.

I stamped OPI "Pamplona Purple" over Pretty and Polished "Pretty Charmeleon" which is a thermal polish that changes color from light to medium pink. "Pretty Charmeleon" needs two-three coats and have pink and blue shimmer. Perfect polish!

Looking forward to see the other girls flower designs. What is your favorite flower? Mine is actually not roses but lilacs, foxglowes, jasmines and hyraciths<3 all flowers found in my childhood garden and they always beat the 500 roses and dahlias we had in the garden in my teenager years.

Fancy Friday: Love is in the air (Valentinesday)

Weee valentines day is here and I wanted to use stampingplates from MoYou London to make unique combinations for this day. And i have two designs

First design was made with china glaze "Something Sweet" and OPI DS "Extravagance".
I wanted this to be something about love in nature and i think it got really sweet but maybe a little less appropriate for the day.
Here is photos of the first design:

I stamped with OPI DS "Extravagance" and it didn't show the holo as much so for my next design I wanted purely holo.
Base is a pink linear holo from Topshop (forgotten the name) and stamp is again with OPI DS "Extravagance" but with the more extreme holo as base it made a really nice holographic look overall.
The star stamp in this design i think is the thumb. It is from the Roma inspired Moyou plate and in the heart are the words "Amore mio" (=my love), and my boyfriend is half Italian:) On my ring fingers I had two birds, I though about turtledoves so that's why I picked that.

Beauty Wendesday: Valentines Makeup

Hi girls

Today I have a makeup look for valentines day.
Depending on your plans for valentines I would give different advises. If you are going out with a guy or your boyfriend it should be simple, natural and not to much on the lips because you don't want them to be scared of kissing you. Boys don't normally like makeup on girls when it is too obvious so for this night when you wanna look at your best for your man, don't go out to bold. If you are going out with some girls just to have fun I say go all out.
For todays look I did both just to make some suggestions for simple classic eyes and a bold lip color for lonely fun.

Here is a collage of my look. below it is informations about the used products i will mention in this blogpost

The lipstick used is Maybeline "Vivid Rose", a neon charming redish hotpink lipstick. It needs a lip liner to be at it's best. It is beautiful and fun and will atract attention at the start of the evening - may just be worn enough of when you get the chance of a kiss;)

But again if you are going our with a boyfriend I would choose something less obvious like a light/medium pink/mauve.

The eyeshadows used are from Wet N Wild and actually my two favorite palettes for traveling, they got it all and hold on great through the day on me. The palettes are called "Silent Treatment" and Sweet as Candy".
The only color i didn't use was the brown crease color in the "Sweet as Candy" trio. I think the eyelid color of "silent treatment" is perfect blending out color because it is pigmented and really easy to work with and easy to build up, and its not as grey as it looks like in the pan and even though it contains shimmer it doesn't overwelm the look at all. The two pinks where used as a soft gradient on the lid. The highlight is the perfect highlight if you ask me. The dark color tend to make everything more grey so I used it very little and went over it with a burgundy eyeshadow from another palette just to warm it up.

But of cause the most important is the eyeliner, here used the Maybelline gel eyeliner. I don't normally do such a big wing but especially with false eyelashes this would be cool.

What will you do for makeup on valentines?
I'm going with my boyfriend so I'm going for these eyes and a more kissable lip color<3

Happy Monday: Favorite Spring Color with Jindie Nails

I had a big problem choosing one color as I don't go around with just one color on my nails often anymore... My manicures are more complex than that.
I thought about doing something with pastels but then I decided to show a polish that i finally got, have wanted for the longest time and is a perfect spring polish.

Jindie Nails "Princess Breath"
A green base that is very spring-like to me, and generally a color I really love. It is packed with glitter in the most gorgerous colors and it is just totally perfect. I felt that two coats was to much glitter and made the manicure to chunky so I put one coat over OPI "Thanks a Windmillion" for this photo.

I cut stare at this all day..... This is in my absolute top of favorite polishes.
What color do you like for spring?

Fancy Friday: Match your eyes

Today is the challenge to match your eyes. I love the colors of my eyes, they are a shade between blue and green and in different lightning they can look both blue and green.
Here is some pictures of my eyecolor. I think its funny my eyes have a different pattern from each other, I've first realized that now:P

And here is my design: a gradient from the top and a darker edge on the tip because my eyes have a dark ring just before the white. My first idea was to make a saran wrap over the gradient but the gradient was so beautifull that i didn't wanted to do it even though it would have matched better.

I used a bunch of colors becuse i played with them until i was satisfied.
Essie "Maximillian Strasse Her" was the original base but as i found out i wanted something more blue the stamp was made with Essie "School of hard Rocks" and Essie "Parka Perfect". The tips I made with Essie "Vested Interest" and it looks more blue than it is in the photo cause it is more green than "School of hard rocks" and a little darker.

As i didn't got to tell something about myself last Friday I wanted to try Zoya "Maisie" over this design. I don't really like the polish itself.. its too green, but I like the name. Maisie is my nickname from my parents and it's a name that make me feel loved when used. I can't explain why, it just makes me happy.
I like flakies most matte so I also tried this matte even though my eyes are not of cause:P
This way it has it's own charm... but I actually liked my first design better:)

Hope this inspires you if you have fabulous eyes, you got to use them:)

Swatch: Glam polish - Corpse Bride

Quick quick post ladies

I've purchased this polish from a personal seller. I was in doubt if I wanted it because there is so few pictures on google, but I got it and wanted to show some better pictures.

"Corpse Bride" is capable of giving coverage on its own with two-tree coats, but I laid two coats over white and was very happy with the outcome. It was a bit more controlled even though it on itself gives more depth.
It is a white vase with small purple, blue and silver glitter, bigger blue, silver and grey glitter, an even bigger grey glitter and lastly a pink skull glitter. I don't really care for the skull glitter, its a little weird to me:P

This is very unique and may frighten the most - but that's what I like about glam polish, hope to purchase a lot next month:)

Beginners Guide to Nails: filing nails

Hi girls

Today I wanted to talk about how I file my nails and achieve the shape I usually wear (Sabine Rasmussen asked me to do this ages ago, it's almost embarrassing and I have no explanation) - but then two nails broke.... (insert very nasty words). I will still attempt so by telling techniques and show how they normally look, but my outcome for today was very short.
Here is pictures of my accident :'(

Happy Monday: Hare polish - Test your Love (for valentines)

Hi girls.
Some sweet girls just started a new challenge day for mondays and I am now a member. Well see how this turns out for me or if it will be to much pressure that I will have to let go of one but I want to give this a try and its fun to start this up and have something to say:) It was a very spontaneous start so I was not prepared for todays challenge and used a blogpost i've already written but planned for next week. So this is more of a swatch-post than a nail art post as I would normally do, but I hope its okay.

I bought this lovely polish from nailant's blogsale some time ago (her blogsales are soo great! Ruins me haha).
This is love in a bottle! A berry pink basecolor and flakes in both yellow and pink makes it very unique in the sence that you cant put a flakie polish over a berry shade and get the same outcome. Compared to the flakes in Essie "Shine of Times" this flakes is not duocrome, it is just colored in two different colors and Essie is without any base color and only with the shine.
The bad thing about this polish is that I needed four coats for this to be as opaque as I wanted, but it dried fast because it actually dries matte so it wasn't that time consuming to do all the layers. I have both shown pictures of it with matte topcoat and poshe topcoat. I prefer the matte version even though the flakes catch the light so nice with clear topcoat.

That was a quick blogpost, but I think it speaks for itself so rambeling on is just a waste of time;) you just need to look at the pictures again if you are in doubt. I know it can be bought from Llarowe
What are your pics for valentines day nails?
