Fancy Friday: inspired by Fashion

I wanted to do so much for today but in the end I discovered I didn't had time:( I new that I wanted to do something floral because I wanted to do something that would fit for the babtism of alittle girl Iam attending this Saturday, and I wanted to do the roses myself because I actually haven't tried that yet, but that will have to be another time and this blogpost will be very simple and short as I am in a train on my way to Copenhagen now. I think I will change my polish before the babtism, maybe I will post a little something about it this Monday.

Getting ready for a party

Hi lovelies

Last saturday I did something I never do. I ATTENDED A PARTY! 
I have a problem with alcohol in the sense that I feel uncomfortable around drunk people (to many bad memories - do you want to hear? comment) but I made an excuse because me and my boyfriend was invited to my cousins wife's 30 year birthday party, and it was great! There where drunk people yes, but they where still smiling, kind and with brain left in their scalp. Just a fun night without any trouble:)

For this party I wore a plain black dress so the attention could be on my nails and eyes.

I did my nails totally over the top but it was also a experiment on how much a nail design could take if you where anything but minimalistic.

Here you see the outcome: Gradient, summer colors, holo and matte glitter. Almost to much, but great for a party:)

Fancy Friday: Inspired by a celebrity

For today I was inspired by this Nicki Minaj look from her music video "Super Bass"

Her first CD was right up my alley: fun, different and she herself was amazing with her pink hair that soon changed and changed and changed. I found her a inspiration all the time back then and Super Bass was my favorite song on the CD, but the second CD was a big disappointment for me, way to much techno, I want her to rap and sing, not hear some stupid extreme party melody instead of hearing her. Nahh... I'm not so interested anymore but we'll see about the third CD.

It's fun she went through that change as for an example Lady Gaga also almost went goth/rocker in her second CD, and that's boring compared to her looks when she came up in the spotlight, so I'm disappointed about both of my loves, that's so sad....

But for my design I wanted to focus on the colors of her hair and her pink-giraffe suit. So this is what I ended up with:

World Wide Giveaway: The blogs 1 year birthday!

Weeeee today the blog is 1 year - or not really, I created it in 2011, but it wasn't serious.
Then I decided to lived up the blog on May 21 2013, the blogpost of that day is here (but in danish). I was in doubt that I could do this, but I could/can:) 

 

I have made some changes through the year as for an example I got a new cell phone, created a Instagram, switched the langurage on the blog from danish to english, I changed the domain which caused in me losing all my bloglovin followers (really a bummer and that is still the place I have the least followers - that would be nice to change<3). 

 

Personally a lot also happened to me this year, but a constant pleasure is all the support I have gotten from all my friends, my boyfriend and from you the followers. It's nice to be a inspiration and share what I can do. Thank you so much all of you<3

Fancy Friday: Fruit and Vegetables

Today the theme of the Fancy Friday challenge is fruits and/or vegetables.

I have made strawberry nails before (in 2012, see it in this old blogpost) but I wanted to do a new take on strawberry nails.

Swatch: Nabi Holos Part 2

Dear Girls

A week went by and that means I will show the last 6 Nabi Holographics I bought. If you missed the post of last week you can go and watch part 1 here.

The colors of today are: "Cinnahon", "Light Pink", "Rose", "Tawny", "Wine" and "Purple"

 

All the polishes are scattered holographics with a strong prism. They have some smell of cheap polish but not extremely strong, I think it is alright. They could use some aquabase but I don't got that and if careful about application you can definitely use them without.

Update: Sick me and a sick nail polish:P

Hi guys

Ahhhhhrrr live is annoying right now. I started a internship in a kindergarten a month ago and right now I am sick for the third time...... Such a waste of time and I wanted to show effort to the educators.

The polish of today is also sick but with far more grace than me;) As my mother used to say "The snot runs faster that I can manage to eat it" - Yes, very nasty saying but perfect of my situation, and if I could not laugh a little about it I would be as whining as a sick man ;D

The polish is OPI "DS Oppulence" - A brilliant scattered holographic mauveish-muted-light pink. So flattering it can replace a nude holographic any day in my opinion. It's sweet and hard at same time. Appropriate for all events as well for trying to get well faster by looking at something beautiful - If it works I don't know for sure, but it makes me happy of cause. It only takes two easy coats to be opaque,

Fancy Friday: Black and white

Hi girls

Today the theme of fancy friday is Black and White. Well it's classical but yet I really don't like any design only with these colors and I never ever ever only wear black and white, I will always include another color to spice it up and make it less boring, and I'm sorry to say but I did it again with this design.

I made snow white (or just a lady) with black hair, light skin and red lips and a white background. And for the rest of the nails I did a red mani with white polka dots:P

 

Swatch: Nabi holographics part 1 (cold)

I have looked forward to showing these holographic polishes. I bought these from ebay.com a while ago. If you search for "Nabi Holographics" you will for an example get to a seller that offers a discount if you buy 6, 12 or 24 of the polishes. I bought 12 and I will show 6 of them today and the last 6 next week. I got the 12 for about 300 DKK (omg a steal), but I had to pay some taxes to receive it. Still a steal so I am still happy for my buy.

The colors i will show today are:

Nabi Holographic in: "Navy Blue", "Sky Blue", "Ocean Blue", "Teal", "Dark Purple" and "Lavender"

Gradient and Leopard Manicure

I have done a lot of gradients these past weeks and one of them I want to show. There is not much explaining. I always use the gradient method where I dap one color on the tips with a sponge until the effect appears, adding color to the tips more times. If you want to see this done I would recommend to watch a tutorial on youtube (for an example searching "nail art gradient tutorial")

I bought these from their own website, their etsy page is actually a little more expensive for me, not sure if its shipping or the polishes and not sure if this is the case in other countries, but it was another price for me.
