Getting ready for a party

Hi lovelies

Last saturday I did something I never do. I ATTENDED A PARTY!
I have a problem with alcohol in the sense that I feel uncomfortable around drunk people (to many bad memories - do you want to hear? comment) but I made an excuse because me and my boyfriend was invited to my cousins wife's 30 year birthday party, and it was great! There where drunk people yes, but they where still smiling, kind and with brain left in their scalp. Just a fun night without any trouble:)

For this party I wore a plain black dress so the attention could be on my nails and eyes.

I did my nails totally over the top but it was also a experiment on how much a nail design could take if you where anything but minimalistic.

Here you see the outcome: Gradient, summer colors, holo and matte glitter. Almost to much, but great for a party:)

For this look I used:
Essie "Full Steam Ahead" - as base
Sally Hansen "Jungle Gem" - as gradient on the tips
L.A.Girl 3D "Teal Dimension" - as a little holo on the tips.
OPI Sheer Tint "I Can Teal You Like Me" (the blue) - as a extra transiioning effect in the gradient
ILNP "My Private Rainbow (Scattered)" - as a holo topper (because holo tips was apperently not enough when I got to this step)
Elevation Polish "Haba Xueshan" - as a last glitter topper. I chose this because the mint glitter in the mix would be nice in the color combination)

I wanted to have focus on the eyes in my make up and seriously I used the colors because I got that idea for my manicure, I had not though of this before that mani came to my mind.

The outcome was this:

Of cause I used a lot of things to do this but I will highlight a few.

Over my eyelid primer I used the light purple GOSH Waterproof Eyeshadow as my eyeshadow base to make the eyeshadow stand more out. The lilac eyeshadow I used where the one from the Wet'N'Wild "Petal Pusher" pelette and the teal eyeshadow where the crazy pigmented color from MUAs "Glamour Nights" palette - you can see the location of the colors used in the pictures below.

Of cause I used some blending shades and a very subtle matte highlight but not anyone worth mentioning here, but that might come another day.

I hope you liked the post and maybe got inspired to do something fantastic to a party this summer:)

Love and sweets
