Finally I have the swatches of the Etude house Ice cream polishes I bought this summer. Noone has made a review for the whole set so I wanted to wait for my shift to English to show this. When I bought these I would have liked more photos and informations and I feared the worst as Fromheadtotoe wasn't that exited about them. I can't understand that cause the consistency is great and I don't find the lid difficult to control. So I do not agree with her on that.
I bought these on eBay on a auction for the set of 8 creme polishes, but they can also be bought separately and are very cheap.
Etude house also made 4 glitter ice cream polishes that I also own, but I did show two of them here but I don't think I will show the last two because these polishes has sadly become hard to get. So there is no meaning in torturing you guys:)
My original reason to want these was of cause the bottles, noone can truly mean they don't think these are amazing! But I was so happy to find out how great the polishes is. The brush and opacity is really nice and they deserve some attention. The colors is not what I am normally attracted by, and therefore I actually dont have a single dupe for any of these colors. My plan is not to use these as manicures with these colors, but instead use them for nail art
Lets get on with the swatches
Choko - yes, it is indeed a very nasty brown shit-color on the nails. I will of cause never ever use it for a full mani, not if all other polishes in the world disapeared. But if I need to make a reindeer for Christmas (or a little bunny for Easter) this is ideal, both because of the color and because: THIS IS A ONE COATER! It has so good opacity that it is a shame is is so ugly;)
Peach - a light orange polish, needs two coats for full opacity. Again not my color, but good to have for nail art and in the case I need to make a penguins beak I will need this. Maybe it can also assist me at Easter.
Banana - yellow polish that needs 2-3 coats, depends on the thickness of the coats you do. I did 3 and because I did not need to do tree coats with any other of the bunch I will say this had the worst consistency, horrible color (but that depends on taste) and this I think you can defenetly live without. I can't use it as nail polish and doubt that I will use it as nail art because the opacity is to week. I have better and more wearable yellows than this so I don't expect ever to get at reason to use this. It will stay in my collection for fun :)
Grapefruit - reddish orange that needs two coats for full opacity. I have no clue yet how I will use this, but I guess I will get some ideas for summer:)
Strawberry - lovely pink that needs two coats of nail polish. Of cause I will find a way to use this:) it is a little more red toned compared to my other pinks but that is because I prefer the blue toned ones, but this is definitely a good polish.
Blueberry - a very pale light lilac and OMG!: this polish is almost a one coater!!!!!!!!!! Whaaaaatttt???? Didn't believe my eyes when I saw it, have gotten to used to put on light colors with horrible consistency, but this it just as good and amazing as OPI "My very first Knockwurst", not the same color but same fabulous consistency. I am already planning to buy a backup... I am crazy about it and if you like light pastel colors you do need this. And I thought for sure this would be the most horrible of the bunch and maybe wouldn't have bought it if it hadn't been for that auction for the whole set. This is a true example of the mysterious ways of nail polish <3
Blue Mint - a strong turquoise-blue that reach full opacity with two coats. Another characteristic it has is staining very quickly I'm afraid. I wore this on four nails in only 5 minutes maximum, and it was so obvious that my nails had gone a little bluer. Well I wasn't wearing base coat for the swatching, but that fast it stained makes me doubt that a base coat could prevent it all. Good i don't like the color:) it will only be used for nail art, and there is no problem. I actually think it has neon characteristics.
Green Apple - a light warm toned green, also only needs two coats of polish. This is not my color at all, but it could be usefull, maybe around Easter for grass the little eggs could lay in:)
I am really sorry for the picture though, I have no idea why but my hands looked really dirty so I had to reduce all shadow possible to get it out and now the color is a little to bright. I hope i have time to change this photo, if not this was the explanation for the horrible picture.
I hope these pictures and the review helps, there are to few pictures on the Internet for my liking. When I bought these I only thought they would look good, but that is not the case:)
