Weeeeeeee december is here!!! And this year the first december is on first Advent Sunday. Because of this I chose to make a mani today instead of tomorrow monday as I normally do. Because I had two ideas that worked out fine, i have to show you both and not just one as I planned:P
Here is the polishes used:
Appeal4 "35 Pride of pink Sprinkles", OPI "Dutch Ya Just Love OPI?", Sally Hansen Spottet "Frazzle Dazzle"
My reasons for choosing as I do is the fact that Advent is where you light the candles of the Advent wreath and count down to Christmas. Well I am sure there is a more biblical reason, and I could just ask my mom (a protestant priest) or use google - but so can you if you are interested;)
Besides that even though people often use christmasy colors to decorate the advent wreath, the official color of advent is purple.
With that said my background color will be OPI "Dutch ya just love OPI?"
This is a lovely purple color with a slight bronze-gold shimmer, and it covers in two easy coats. This is one of my favorite colors!
First i tried Appeal4 "35 Pride of Pink Sprinkles". I love the look of these colors together and this is both christmassy and advent proper in my opinion. The positive things I have to mention about this polish is that it was easy to get the glitter up and on the nail, and even the star glitters wasn't hard to come by. I had decided for this design as well as to wear it for the next days, but only one day later the stars was coming of I have very rounded nails but I expected more than one day. I was very sad about that. I have ordered the poshé topcat to try if this really is better than the one from Rimmel I normally use without any problems, but also to see if it can prevent this problem. Besides that it had a long dry time, but luckily I only had to put one layer so over a fast drying polish it was not the biggest problem.
Sally Hansen "Frazzle Dazzle" from the limited Xtreme Wear Spottet collection, is a hard polish to work with, and I was almost sure about it when I bought it. I often find Sally Hansen glitters to have to much base compared to glitter and it definitely have much suspension base cause it is not possible to shake this... the steel ball stays in the bottom even if i put it upside down:P. That's extreme!
This one is better than most from SH though, but what you see on my nails is two thick coats - thick because they need to be if you want any glitter on the nail. I think its the brush, it is made of plastic and the "hairs" don't grab any glitter. Besides that it took ages to dry... Really a bad polish in the matter of consistence, but the thought with the glitter and random black bar glitter in different lengths is sweet, and work really well with the shimmer in the OPI even though it doesn't show in these photos.
