Swatch: Maybelline Street Artist

Hi Girls:)

Normally I heard about a polish before they hit Denmark (as Denmark is the last place on earth nail polishes arrive;)), but last week I came across something I had not heard about but I was very exited. It was the Maybelline Street Artist collection, staring at me with big blue eyes as I was in the Danish store Magasin in Copenhagen. Sephora in Illum in Copenhagen have just got the Sephora X Formular nail polishes (and not the whole range of cause and for a insane prize...) but I instantly saw that they looked like some of the colors, and I bought all 4 on the spot!
I am very happy for my buy and I show them today so people near a store that sells maybelline limited edition polishes have a change to go and get these for easter :)

Here is the colors. From left to right:
White Splatter, Alley Attitude, Boom Box Black and Urban Vibe

All swathes are with top coat

White Splatter (Here shown over China Glaze "Electric Beat") - is the most unique in the collection. It got 5 different sizes of white matte hex glitter, big white matte bar glitter and shiny purple, blue and green glitter in one size. I put it over blue this time to make it show all its differences and to give it a vibe for summer, but I think I will love it more over a dark purple polish so the white really can stand out. Because it got so big glitters it is a little hard to apply as the base is a little runny and it weights to much to get a lot on the brush - but hey with these you have to watch what you are doing and its not harder than many other glitter polishes. I do think it is great and I love the color combinations. It got a lot of possibilities and if you are a playful person, you simply need this.

Alley Attitude (Here shown over OPI "Do You Lilac It?") - it got 5 different sizes matte black hex glitters and 4 different sizes matte light blue  hex glitters and matte blue small bar glitters. This is almost a dupe of Sephora X Formular "Turbulent", it just miss the blue bar glitter.

Boom Box Black (Here shown over Essie "Vested Interest") - it got 5 different sizes matte black hex glitters and 4 different sizes matte light green hex glitters and matte green small bar glitters. This is almost a dupe of Sephora X Formular "Bionic", it just miss the green bar glitter. Maybe it got a little to fall-ish with the dark green color under, but I was a little lost about what to use this over, and it is beautiful together I think:)

Urban Vibe (Here shown over China Glaze "Life is Rosey") - it got 5 different sizes matte black hex glitters and 4 different sizes matte orange hex glitters and matte orange small bar glitters. I got no dupe for this. I almost didn't get this because me and orange have a hard time together, but I decided to give it a try as I though another color under would make it okay, and I think it did in this instance.

Seriously, these are so fun. I am happy I got them for so little (30DKK compared to the sephoras for 120DKK, I got all 4 for 130DKK) and I hope that I help somebody by giving this knowledge. Of cause the difference is the bar glitter and many people hate bar glitter, but I think it is fresh and cute in this combination and there are so many ways these can give something else to a manicure.

  1. Love the base colour you chose for the blue... but I don't think I'll be buying these any time soon ;)
