Fancy Friday: Striping tape

Hi girls

We have had this theme before, but last time I was not happy with the outcome and I have deleted the post from my blog. I have never since done a design with use of striping tape, so I guess it was time for me to learn it. Here is my design for today:



The fail I did last time was that I waited a little to pull off the striping tape after I put polish over. Now I know that you are supposed to remove the tape right after and it worked. I messed up a little on the pointer finger but that was because I had to redo it and was too impatient. Rest of the nails where 100% dry as I put the base on the day before I made the stripes.

I chose to do simple stripes, but it was too simple to I did some glitter placement between the lines. It looks a little like very early Easter eggs - sorry for that, but I really like it so I will try this again when Easter actually hits us :P



Here you can see the design with clear topcoat:


Polishes used:
Elevation Polish "Ortler" - as base/the stripes
OPI "Casino Royale" - as the color on top / the color between the stripes
Glam Polish "Fairy Princess Gru" - for the glitter placement


And here is a swatch of Elevation Polish "Ortler", just because it is pretty when you finally find the holo in it. But as you can see in my manicure for today, it was totally unnessesary to use this polish for this design because the holo is so weak and of cause also because I chose to make it matte. The polish covers easily in two coats.
