Snow White inspired with new winter polishes.

Oooooh My! I am so exited to show this. This is one of the coolest manicures I ever made I think (right now at least;) it changes every time haha).

I have a thing with Snow White. I liked having almost black hair because I looked like a Snow White. I was crazy about "The 10th Kingdom" I saw for the first time last year with my boyfriend. It was so fun because Virginia and the wolf have the same length hair as me and my boyfriend when we met, and besides we look much alike in colors. That is fun i think:P And you gotta love the wolf!
Now me and my boyfriend have started watching the Once Upon A Time series, and we just finished first season. I think it is great! The only thing I really don't understand is why they want Prince Charming to wear more lipstick than Snow White.... But hey, it's a great color:P
This is my design:

Anyway, that was a little bit about my obsession. Now it is time to show you the nail art design i made.

The colors used are:

Esie Sew Psyched (for the leaves - finally got a purpose for this color),

Essie Limo-Scene (for the base),

ORLY Peaceful Opposition (glitter effect over the base),

OPI Manicurist of Seville (apples backgroundfor the stamp),

OPI Underneath the Mistletoe, from the new Mariah Carey Holliday 2013 collection (used for filling out the apples to make them stand out and glitter - shown in full mani as the last thing in this post)

First I must warn you about Orly Peacefull Oposition. If you don't like to se your nail color (I dont because of staining) then you need a base for this to be build on. Essie Limo-scene was my choice, and the most optimal way of doing it is two coats of that and two-three coats, with only one coat of Essie i neded to do 4-5 coats (I stopped counting).
As you can se it is lovely! But it needed concentration and time, even though the dry time was very good compaired to what I expected.

I Used the MoYou Landscape collection 03 plate (well thats what it says on the plate, but it is from the mother nature collection). Soooo sweet what cam out of it. It seems to have dissapeared from the MoYou site though, but I hope for you all that it comes back soon :)

And here is the finished nail look. How crazy beautyful is this! The orly is of cause a snow background for the poison apples in the tree, that could never really happen at the same time, but it does in Once Upon A Time, and that problem was my inspiration.  Is it to soon to show a winter mani? Or does this work the whole year? I don't know, but I know it isn't the first time I stamp with apples, its to cute.

I NEVER WANT THIS TO LEAVE MY HANDS!!!

Here you can see the glitter in the apples from the OPI

Details of the stamp, sorry for the poor quality, but you get the point:)

And just because I can: here is a swatch of OPI Underneath the Mistletoe. It is a warm red base with pink small glitter that becomes red because of the base.

Wendesday i will have a Snow White inspired everyday makeup look up where i also will review the Revlon Kissable Balm Stain in the color "chrush". I bought two more on ebay so i will wait for those for the full review of the products.

I hope you enjoyed and got some inspiration:)

Love and sweets

  1. Thank you Courtney, i loove comments :D
i tried to dap red on the apples on the plate and green around, but when i scraped the excess of it blured a bit together - Thats actually why i filled the apples in with the opi with glitter, because some of the apples got green, but on this design i think it worked anyway, made it kind of fall-ish
So actually it did fail for me but it was easy to fix, i thought it would be less problematic because i had seen others do the same but i will remember next time that its a great way to do it but may need filling in if you want it precisely
    Hope that was answear enought:)

  2. […] I take that as using more than one color to stamp with. I have tried that once before in my Snow White inspired manicure, but never since and that is a shame cause it can look so damn pretty and I was so proud of that […]
